Decadent Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe

• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 cup boiling water


1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well combined.
4. Stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that’s what will give the cake its moist texture.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

• 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 4 tablespoons milk
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions for Frosting:

1. In a large bowl, cream the butter until smooth.
2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract.
3. Beat until creamy and smooth, adding more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.


Once the cakes have cooled completely, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
You can garnish with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or fresh berries if desired.
