New Orleans Pecan Clusters
These sweet and crunchy pecan clusters are a delightful treat with a rich caramel flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness from brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Ingredients:
2 cups pecan halves
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Combine Sugars and Butter: In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to boil.
Add Pecans: Once the mixture has reached a boil, remove it from the heat and stir in the pecans until they are fully coated.
Drop Clusters onto Baking Sheets: Drop the pecan mixture by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the clusters turn golden brown and the sugar mixture has caramelized.
Cool: Allow the clusters to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
Enhance Flavor: For an extra layer of flavor, add a pinch of salt to the sugar mixture before cooking.
Storage: Store the pecan clusters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
