Ingredients:
1 lb steak, thinly sliced
1 tsp garlic salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
8-10 slices White American cheese
20 oz bag McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries (or your favorite fries)
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2️⃣ Cook the Steak:
Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp olive oil.
Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet, season with garlic salt and black pepper, and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
3️⃣ Sauté the Vegetables:
Reserve 1 tbsp of the liquid from the skillet and discard the rest.
Return the skillet to the stove, add the green bell pepper and onion, and cook in the reserved liquid until tender but still slightly crisp. Remove and set aside.
4️⃣ Layer the Fries and Toppings:
Spread a layer of waffle fries in the skillet (or a baking dish).
Place 4 slices of White American cheese over the fries.
Add a layer of cooked steak and sautéed vegetables.
Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining cheese slices on top.
5️⃣ Bake:
Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6️⃣ Serve:
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot. Enjoy your loaded Philly Steak Cheese Fries with friends or family!
