Crispy Onion Steak Sandwich: A Flavorful Dinner Delight!

Ingredients:
1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice), cooked to your liking and thinly sliced, 1 large onion, thinly sliced into rings, 1 cup buttermilk, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, Salt and black pepper to taste, Vegetable oil for frying, 4 sandwich rolls or hoagie buns, 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 2 tbsp Dijon mustard, Optional: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles for garnish

Directions:
Prepare the Crispy Onions: Soak the onion rings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Dredge the soaked onion rings in the seasoned flour mixture and fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels. Prepare the Steak: If not already done, cook the steak to your preferred level of doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes before thinly slicing it against the grain. Prepare the Sandwich Rolls: Toast the sandwich rolls or hoagie buns lightly if desired. Assemble the Sandwich: Mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together and spread on the inside of each roll. Layer the sliced steak on the bottom half of each roll. Top with the crispy onion rings. Add optional garnishes such as lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles if desired. Serve: Close the sandwiches and serve immediately while the onions are still crispy.
