Ingredients:
12 oz smoked sausage (or turkey sausage), sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
8 oz penne pasta (or your favorite shape)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the sausage: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
SautΓ© aromatics: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and garlic. SautΓ© until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Make the sauce: Stir in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and diced tomatoes. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Add pasta: Stir in the uncooked pasta, ensuring itβs submerged in the liquid. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
Combine and melt cheese: Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and stir in mozzarella cheese until melted and creamy.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
